A handy slideshow to make the case for Improv Camp and Improv U

By Lisa Amerongen

Registration for Improv Camp and Improv U opened today (Happy Valentine’s Day!).

If your parents don’t fall for the ol’ “prove your love by signing me up for camp” routine than you can wow them with this power point presentation I’ve made for you. Take the credit, I don’t need it. It’s full of buzz words and real life testimonials. Parents love buzz words. Just choose one or two of these exciting nouns to casually throw around the dinner table and then also casually throw on this Prezi after dinner or send it to them in an email with a subject line that reads: ‘FYI Business Proposal V.IMPORTANT’ or something. Highly influential.

I’ve added the always popular Flaming Lips song “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt.1” as accompaniment, which I think it befitting to the theme and is a fun ditty for kids and parents alike.

You can press play at the beginning if you think your parents will like it. If you don’t think they will like it you’ll have to fill the silence with conversation so I suggest you press play. Just hover around until you find the button, it’s there. If your ‘rents don’t like the song, start to question their ‘hipness.’ Parents are very sensitive about ‘hipness’, it will distract them long enough to change the music to something they think they should like now, like Bruno Mars or whatever

When you’re done you can sign up for Camp AND Improv U right here!

Good luck and enjoy!

P.S. There’s a blatant opportunity for Mom flattery in there, watch for it. “’Beautiful mother’? That sounds just like you!”

P.P.S. All jokes aside, parents are great and they make up many of the vertebrae that make up the backbone of the CIG. We love them and we respect them. Have a real sit down chat about how much going to camp means to you. Your emotions + this power point = camp registration by the end of the week!

P.P.P.S. Thanks to all the awesome people who shared their camp experiences with me! They’re also great.
